Divisional Secretary Chris Preston took to the airwaves in Newcastle to let the public know just what is happening to drivers in Newcastle.
Despite promises to be more open about what is happening with jobs. The government is still refusing to guarantee drivers job protections, or a transitional package that other privatised workforces in NSW have received.
This is just not good enough, and the companies who want to buy and profit from Newcastle Buses need to know that they are about to get a very angry workforce.
Thank you to all the drivers who took part in the no-uniform protest on Wednesday – ensuring that we are a united front is the only way we can get the best outcome possible for all staff.
